Eight interdisciplinary research projects will share $7 million in funding from Round 3 of Texas A&M University’s X-Grants program, an initiative of the 10-year, $100 million President’s Excellence Fund.
Part of the President’s Excellence Fund, X-Grants is an interdisciplinary program designed to bring faculty together across disciplines. The program’s goal is to unlock creative and imaginative ideas that will address important problems in areas that will significantly impact the most important challenges facing global society. Seven million dollars will be devoted to a mix of smaller scale awards and larger scale collaborative research awards.
Team leads or co-leads must be PI eligible (faculty or faculty-equivalent research position) at Texas A&M, Texas A&M University-Galveston, Texas A&M University- Qatar, TEES, TEEX, AgriLife Research, AgriLife Extension, or TTI. Additional team members may consist of any faculty or staff with appropriate expertise for the team. Seven million dollars will be devoted to a mix of smaller dollar amount awards and larger funding scope collaborative research awards. Funded teams will participate in the President’s Excellence Fund Symposium.
